UK Status Resident. A local species found in the south of England and north Wales. Montgomeryshire Status First recorded in the east of the county at Middletown in 2012. This was only the seventh record for north Wales. Wingspan : M & F 16-21mm. Confusion species Fairly distinctive. |
Flight time & Voltinity
(Univoltine)  Habitat Woodland, scrub and gardens. Foodplant Blackthorn and apples. Lifestage data Spinning. Eggs laid on a twig of the foodplant. Larva feeds from a slight spinning. Pupates in a whitish boat-shaped cocoon in the leaf litter. |
